A life-long outdoorsman, David Eller, decided in 2009 to expand his love of fly fishing into the retail world by becoming an Authorized Orvis Dealer. Swan Point Landing Rockport was a natural extension of his coastal development Swan Point Landing Seadrift. Mr. Eller's vision is to enable access to quality products, fly fishing adventures, and classic coastal living along the Central Texas Coast.
Manager Dave Hayward brings 30 years of Texas fly fishing experience to SPL in Rockport. Innovator of the clip-on tie while using a linewinder in the early 80’s, he has since worked in most facets of the flyfishing industry with Retail, Sales Rep, Fly Casting Instructor, and Product Developer positions. Dave describes himself as " semi-friendly and enjoys chasing salt fish with the fly rod, helping beginners get better, running over spoon flies with his truck, and cold beer". His dry sense of humor, and without a doubt the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE, are why the shop is so successful.

And local fish whisperer, Chuck Baldwin, has been with the SPL staff since 2013. He and his skiff follow tides WAY into the back lakes. Fish in less than a foot of water are never safe. He covers the fly shop Wednesdays or Thursdays with trusty dog, Jam at his side…
